What a year! It’s been 16 weeks of sheltering-in-place due to the coronavirus, and everyone’s going a bit stir crazy from staying indoors. Luckily, George and I found some home projects to keep us busy. The wall of the raised garden bed in our backyard collapsed a few months ago, and we decided to give it a much needed makeover.
It was such an eyesore. So we decided to roll up our sleeves and remove ALL of it. We removed the other walls, cleared all the rocks from the soil (why were they so many rocks…?), and cleaned up the rotting wood in the back.
We also had some retaining wall blocks, so we did our best to create a smaller garden with the remaining soil and the new wall.
And with that, I was happy and ready to call it a day. But George decided that we needed to do more. He had a grand vision. So off he went to paint.
George painted our fence as well as the deck. I wasn’t in love with the colors at first, but it’s really grown on me. It looks so much nicer now.
I am LOVING our backyard patio. It’s been so nice to get out there to enjoy our breakfast smoothies, an afternoon ice cream treat, and even dinners. I’ve taken FaceTime calls out there, enjoying the warm sunshine on my legs.
Hope you are staying healthy and sane out there!
